LLI-447 “Explore Balts”

Balts’ Unity Day is officially being celebrated in Latvia and Lithuania on 22 September. Balts’ Unity Day has been taking place since 2000, one year being held in Lithuania and next year – in Latvia.

This year the Balts’ Unity Day is having its 20th anniversary and it is being celebrated on 25 September in Kuldīga, with many interesting events – ancient crafts market, handicraft and arts exhibitions, concerts of folklore groups, as well as the ancient fire night on the coast of the River Venta.

The event was organised by Kuldīga County Municipality and had been attended by many locals and city guests. Among them, also our project partners from Latvia an Lithuania, governmental and municipality officials.

At the end of the celebration, a relay was handed over to the representatives of Joniškis Municipality to organise the 21st anniversary of the Balts’ Unity Day in Lithuania next year.

Project activities are being implemented with the support of the Interreg V-A Latvia-Lithuania Programme 2014-2020.
