On October 25th 2017 the second work group meeting took place in Liepaja City council. The aim of the meeting was for all partners to gather and discuss the implementation of the first six months of the project activities, to discuss reporting of the first reporting period and to plan next periods’ activities.

In the first six months of project implementation, project partners have had a work group/steering group meeting as a kick off of the project; Opening even in Klaipeda where wider public was introduced to this projects planned activities; experience exchange trip where all project partners were visited and networking was established.

Partners discussed the first six months of the project activities, what is done according to project schedule, what are the problems and possible solutions, etc.

Upcoming project activities:
Liepaja city council has purchased a service provision from Liepājas Neredzīgo biedrība, which as a result will offer different trainings and skill development classes for visually impaired persons (more information here: http://www.redzigaismu.lv/…/projekta-saredzi-citadak-iesak…/).
Project is implemented with the support of  Interreg Latvia – Lithuania Programme.

Project aim is to promote equal attitudes towards persons with disabilities and to improve social inclusion of persons with visual impairments. It will be reached by strengthening cooperation, raising society awareness and improving competencies of specialists, improving social infrastructure and accessibility, efficiency and diversification of social services.

Project implementation if funded by European Regional Development fund, total project budget 493 044,31 EUR (incl. ERDF 419 087,65 EUR).

Project duration May 1ST 2017 – April 30th 2019.
