On 18 and 19 April 2024 together with colleagues from the Vidzeme Planning Region we hosted our project partners from Estonia. The Estonian colleagues spent 2 educational study visit days in Vidzeme. The Estonian tourism services’ providers (local municipalities, entrepreneurs and others), as well as organisations representing the rights of people with disabilities, specialists got introduced with tourist attraction sites in Valmiera, Cēsis and Alūksne and assessed what’s been done to facilitate accessibility.

On the first visit day the study trip participants visited the new exposition “de Woldemer” of the Valmiera Museum, J. Daliņa stadium, Vidzeme concert hall “Cēsis”, as well as the Cēsis Medieval Castle complex. On the second day the Estonian guests visited the Cēsis Spece Educational Centre and the multimedial exposition “Alūksne Bānītis Station”.

Study trip participants were particularly interested in accessibility solutions for people with movement disorders or visual impairment and discussed about what can still be further improved.

Project activities are being implemented with the support of the Interreg Estonia – Latvia Programme 2021-2027.
