From November 20th to 24th, students and educators from Vardafjell Secondary School visited Liepāja. The exchange program commenced with a meeting at Liepāja Draudzīgā aicinājuma Secondary School, where both countries’ student enterprises introduced themselves, allowing an exploration of international trade aspects.

During the visit, the Norwegian representatives explored the city of Liepāja and its surroundings, visiting the Liepāja Olympic Center, the unit “Spārni” within Liepāja Children and Youth Center, the Science and Education Innovation Center, and enjoying the science theatre “Pirate Stories.”

Participants had the opportunity to tour Karosta and take part in an excursion featuring elements of a show at Karosta Prison. This excursion provided insights into Karosta’s history and unveiled new perspectives of this city section.

Continuing the knowledge exchange, the Norwegian representatives engaged in educational activities prepared by Impact Hub Liepāja and Liepāja State Technical School, sharing their experiences with Norwegian students and educators.

Such visits serve as an excellent means to broaden the perspectives of students and educators, acquaint oneself with other countries’ educational systems and cultures, and share experiences and knowledge.

The experience exchange event took place within the framework of the Kurzeme Planning Region project No. LV-LOCALDEV-0004 “Entrepreneurship support measures in the Kurzeme Planning Region” (“Entrepreneurship in Kurzeme”). The project is co-financed by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, through EEA grants in the Local Development, Poverty Reduction and Cultural Cooperation program.
