From November 7 to 11, within the framework of the project no. LV-LOCALDEV-0004 “Entrepreneurship Support Measures in Kurzeme Planning Region”, representatives from Vardafjella Upper Secondary School in Norway came to Ventspils on an experience exchange visit.

The visit started with a joint pizza workshop master class of Ventspils and Norwegian students, during which the representatives of both countries had the opportunity to get to know each other and discuss the events of the planned visit.

Next day we went to Ventspils Design workshop RADE, where in the “Future Class” everyone had the opportunity to learn how to create a design and print it on a mug.

In the afternoon, students of Ventspils State 1st Gymnasium and Ventspils 2nd Secondary School had prepared orientation tasks for Norwegian students in the city of Ventspils.

The beginning of the third day was spent at the Ventspils State 1st Gymnasium, where the student companies from both countries presented their products, and there was also a sample lesson of generating ideas. The students of both countries exchanged products in order to sell them in their country, thus the herbal teas collected by the Latvian students went to Norway, while the spice salt produced by the Norwegian students will be sold in Latvia.

We also visited the manufacturer of innovative, ergonomic video game accessories – Azeron, where we were introduced to the company’s history and current challenges. Later we went on an excursion to the Ventspils science center Vizium.

On the final day of the visit, we visited the Business Academy, where we were introduced to a different way to get higher education, and we also learned about the opportunities offered by LIAA Ventspils Business Incubator for business support.

In the afternoon, we visited the Planetarium in the Ventspils Creativity centre, after which we jointly evaluated the knowledge and experience gained during the visit, as well as were inspired by the story of the Burgerbar owners’ experience.

In general, the participants of the trip evaluate the event as a positive experience, despite big differences between the two countries, there are many things we can learn from each other.
